I have always had a bent towards the Arts & Sciences, both being ways to express creativity: I loved art and music growing up but I was always fixing something as well.

When I started college, I was an art major with a minor in music but I also enjoyed math and physics courses. After several years of semi-random learning, the university told me I was nearest to a degree in engineering, why not just finish that? So that is where I ended up as a profession.

Now retired, I have been able to come full circle and return to my artistic roots.
I started turning wood during Covid on an old Shopsmith. I was immediately hooked so I refitted it with an old treadmill DC variable speed motor to be able to turn more interesting pieces of wood. That is the lathe I still use today and I love it!
